Raising this for Domenics Mom.

Here is my chocolate chip cookie recipe that others (ie: Connielynn, etc) have been asking for...

This is the chocolate chip cookie recipe I use. It comes from Hershey Canada. The cookies turn out really good:

175 ML (3/4 cup) butter
250 ML (1 cup) brown sugar
125 ML (0.5 cup) white sugar
5 ML (1 teaspoon) vanilla
2 eggs (large)
500 ML (2 cups) unsifted all purpose flour
5 ML (1 teaspoon) baking soda
5 ML (1 teaspoon) salt
300 g (1 package) Hershey semi-sweet chocolate chips

Cream butter, brown sugar, sugar and vanilla.
Add eggs and beat well.

Combine flour, baking soda, and salt; add to creamed mixture.

Stir in chocolate chips.

Drop by teaspoonfulls onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 190C (375F) for 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown. Cool slightly before removing from sheet.

Makes about 7 dozen cookies (or less depending on how large you make each cookie).

Hope they turn out well for you too.

Hi! What brand of cake mix do you use for the oreos? I havent found a Betty Crocker one with that particular name. There is a brownie mix that sounds similar...???

kstreeter, Im sorry, I cant help you out with that one. I have never made the Oreo cookies I dont use cake mixes either.
I had a Brand Name Recipe book e-mailed to me a couple of years ago and it was my little *thing* I did for awhile here. I would take out brand name recipes that I thought people might be able to use here because they may not feel comfortable eating out or they may not feel okay with the manufacturer. I forget how many recipes I posted in that little streak of mine, but there were quite a few.

I never made one of them. Im sorry.

Hopefully someone else will see this though and help you out with the cake mix.

Best wishes!

I recently found out that the Shaws brand of chocolate graham crackers were safe. So I used the filling on the recipe Cindy provided and used the chocolate grahams. My son loved them!

Great idea! Also would make good minis with chocolate Teddy Grahams! becca

This is a different recipe for Mock Oreos. I have tried it and it is great.

Mock Oreos

2 pkg devils food cake mix
1 1/2 cups shortening
4 eggs

Beat until mixed. Roll into nickel sized balls with flour on your hands. Bake 350 for 8-9 minutes. They will not look done. Let set for 1 mnute. After they cool, it is time for the filling.

8 oz. cream cheese
1/4 cup butter
2 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. powdered sugar

Beat ingredients together and then spread between two cookies.

HINT: press the cookie dough down with a small glass.

You cant eat just one!!!

I see you are new. If you do a search, you will find other threads about Oreos, some fairly recent.
But to answer your question, yes, I give my DS Oreos. But I read the label every time. And you will find that there are some here that dont give their child Oreos. I trust Krafts labeling (they are Nabiscos parent company), but they have had a couple of recalls concerning allergies in the past year.

Thanks. My daughter adores them.
