Many families dealing with food allergies struggle with cooking meals that are both nutritious and delicious. When trying to plan a menu without a major food group, it can seem difficult to create meals that taste good and are safe to eat. Thankfully, it doesn’t have to be that way. Now, there are dozens of cookbooks out there to help you plan delicious, allergen-free meals.

A mother of two, food allergy specialist Tanya Wright has become the latest cookbook author to focus on food allergies. Her book was written specifically for families struggling to plan meals because a child or parent has a food allergy or intolerance. She set out to prove that meals don’t have to be “boring, tasteless and poor in nutrition” just because they’re allergy-friendly.

Enjoying Life Without Food Allergens

The book is called “I’m Hungry: Easy Family Recipes Free From Milk, Egg, Soya, Wheat, Gluten.” According to Wright, “The book’s aim is that the whole family, including the person with the food allergy, can eat the same food and really enjoy it.” It features recipes that are free from milk, dairy, lactose, gluten, wheat, eggs, and soy. She commented, “Anyone with food allergies should aim to be in control of the food allergy rather than letting the allergy control them and the family… Embracing the diet and getting creative is the key.”
