Are There Any Peanut Free Schools in (Ottawa) Ontario?

Wade will be going to JK (should be) next fall. I have had some difficulty with the school my older kids attend in terms of their attitude towards PA in general. Up until this year, the school was called "Peanut Free". This year, I think because I bugged them so much about not complying with their policy, the school is now called "Allergy Aware" (just what the heck does that mean anyway?).

Today I went to my 6 y/o DD's class for a party. There are two children in the class with PA and one with Egg allergy. Well, there was a table of food and among the foods were many, many unsafe ones.

For me this is just the straw that broke the camel's back. I am tired of trying to make people (the school) understand PA. Tired of a school administration that pays lip service to it's own policies. I am tired of looking like the unreasonable one here! GRRRRrrrrr!

So, on that note, I am going to be looking for a safer school for Wade for next year, failing that I will enroll him in 5 afternoon a week Preschool.

Are there any safe schools in Ottawa? Just what the heck are our kids rights here? I've tried accessing the (Catholic) school board's policies and have come up empty. Can I force the school to give me a cross border transfer if I find a safe school within the board? I wish we had access to something like a 504 plan here in Canada. HELP!
