Anyone from Nova Scotia out there? There is a possibility that DH will be transfered. We would be in the Dartmouth/Halifax area. Are there any good allergists? What are the schools like in terms of PA?

It would be a great opportunity for us but I am just dreading all the legwork and "educating" ahead. I'd love some advice if you have any.

I am from New Brunswick but a friend of mine took her dd to a ped allergist at the IWK childrens hospital. She was very happy and learned alot from the allergist. I think his name was Dr. Kapoor (I have no idea of the spelling but that is what his name sounded like)
As for the school issue, I can't really say as I don't live there but if they are as good as most in NB, I think you will be
pleased.
*Edited to clarify that the IWK is in Halifax.

I'm in HRM (Halifax Regional Municipality). There are several allergists in Halifax. I think pretty much every elementary school has a no peanut/tree nut policy. Junior Highs and Senior Highs don't ban them, but are very aware and most don't sell peanut products. We've been dealing with PA for twelve years and find most places very accomodating. I wouldn't anticipate much of a change for you. We love it here, hope you will too!
