Rice Milk

Page 1 of 2Next

You could try Harmony Farms rice milk. We used it and were pleased, but the supply is iffy and we had trouble getting it even with special ordering it it often would just not be sent. We switched to Rice Dream and have not had a problem, not perfect but the safest rice milk in the world does us no good if we cant get it.

We use Rice Dream, but have never seen any Almond milk from them. Toomanynuts, where did you see or hear about that?
Although, Rice Dream now has another concern for me. Did you see this new item?

Is it Minute Maid that has this and the source of phytosterols is from the peanut plant?

It bothers me that, as Rice Dream does not have to list the source for the phytosterols and it can come from any fruit or vegetable plant (such as corn or soy)!

I saw it a while ago at Trader Joes. Let me check again and let you know. We havent used it for so long that I just havent checked again. I look this week and post what I find.

I saw that new plant sterol additive too, but I think Im still comfortable with it. I believe the sterols are relatively protein free, and to still be able to call their product soy free I think they would still have to do some pretty stringent cleaning like they do now. My comfort level with soy is if its only a protein free derivative and they wash lines I try it, Vegetable oils are everywhere so it is as good as it gets IMO. I have never seen almond milk from them. The bottom line is we have to use something, unless I notice a problem well keep using it. And if I do notice I problem I dont know what alternatives there are except that I think their dairy ""thing"" is improving and we may just try milk.

Just wanted to say that my dd drinks the Enriched Rice Dream and has never had any problems with it.
