We live in Texas, where Tex-Mex reigns and have learned that with few exceptions we get our Tex-Mex fix on date night or make homemade. Our local Skeeters has made a commitment to be as peanut free as possible and to offer full disclosure, she does eat there.

Thank you for taking the time to answer. Yes we have translation cads made for. When we traveled to punta Cana last year they took very good care of her. The resort we are staying at in Mexico is owned by the same company as punta Cana. They told us we would receive a letter in spanish explaining her allergy and that they are use to dealing with food allergies. The recent cumin recall is scaring me however. I was wondering if restaurants like moes and Jose tejas are off limits to us now. Tx. Lisa

In mexican foods it very common the satay sauce, its a sauce with peanuts, be careful with that. I didnt know and none tell me and the last year I had a reaction because of that. The best thing is to not have any kind of sauce.

I travel to Mexico several times a year and stay at all inclusive resorts when I go. Ive never had an issue talking to restaurant managers and servers. Most of whom are very aware of food allergies. Most of the resorts cater to food allergies. One time when I was there a woman in front of me at the buffet had the manager walk her through all of the dishes. And she asked about cross contamination. Having a medical card and/or bracelet thats translated is a good idea. This way if there is a language barrier, you can show them the medical card which should describe the allergy.

Ive never had an issue in Mexico. I explain my allergies with the help of a translation app if necessary but Ive rarely used it because most people speak English at the resorts. And Absfabs is right, carry a medical/allergy card with you at all times.
