After fighting with many people at school over my dd rights, she is pa, tna and egg allergy, my Dh and I attended a school board meeting after learning that peanuts were served in the cafeteria at school, and the kids were throwing them all over the place. We were furious to say the least! Our dd who is in kindergarten was home from school sick those days, (thank god.) Anyway, to make a very long and stressful story short, the school board thought the school should NOT serve any peanut/nut products at all. The cafeteria servers are mad about it, but they are not allowed to serve those things. We also have a peanut/nut free table set up and if children do bring in peanut butter or nuts they will sit elsewhere, it's not 100%, but atleast there will only be a few kids far from her with those things and not the whole cafeteria. I'm so glad we went to that meeting, it was far easier than I thought. We were at the point of either homeschooling her or demanding a tutor come to the home.
