Recipes for a ‘No White Flour’ Diet

by admin in Food Allergies0 Comments

Almost every food imaginable can be made without the need for white flour.

This is good news for a person with a wheat allergy because of the multitude of recipes available that do not require white flour. Here are a few recipes that you may want to try for yourself and for guests who stop by over the holidays.

Chicken Nuggets

You will need:

  • Chicken breasts cut into nugget size

First, preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Mix the almond flour, paprika, salt and pepper together. Coat a cookie sheet with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Next, roll the chicken pieces in the almond flour mixture until well-coated. Bake for about 5 minutes and turn nuggets to brown on the second side. Turn over again if the first side needs additional browning.

You will need:

  • 1/3 cup brown rice flour
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 8 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/3 cup chocolate chips

Mix together the brown rice flour and almond flour, then add sugar, eggs, butter, salt and vanilla until blended, but do not mix beyond that point. Gently mix in chocolate chips and spread batter into a 8×8 inch pan that has been buttered or sprayed with non-stick spray. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are firm and a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the middle.

Sunflower Chocolate Chip Cookies

This recipe is delicious for anyone, but it is especially good for someone with a peanut allergy because it calls for sunflower seed butter instead of peanut butter. You will need:

  • 2 cups sunflower seed butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Combine sunflower seed butter, sugar, eggs, baking soda and salt together until well-mixed. Stir chocolate chips into cookie dough and drop spoonfuls two inches apart. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until cookies are lightly browned.
