Finalized dates and locations have just been announced for the Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) 2013 Food Allergy Conferences.

The conferences will be held in three locations across the US:

  • May 4th in Oak Brook, IL
  • May 18th in Arlington, VA
  • June 1st in Anaheim, CA

The conferences bring together leading food allergy experts with parents, teens, caregivers and physicians for a day of education, empowerment and advocacy.

“[The] conferences provide an invaluable opportunity for families affected by food allergy to gain insights on the various challenges of managing food allergies,” said Todd A. Mahr, M.D., director of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wis.

Conferences offer informative lectures, workshops and sessions

Last year’s guest speakers at the Anaheim conference included award-winning cookbook author Cybele Pascal. Attendees had access to lectures and workshops where they learned about the latest food allergy research and treatments. Teens were also given access to special sessions that addressed their unique issues, and FARE members had the opportunity to attend a post-conference “Debrief and Decompress Session,” where they could ask further questions.

“I am leaving this conference with more confidence and a sense of empowerment,” said Jami Robinson, a West Virginia support group leader who attended the conference in Oak Brook, Ill. last year.

More information about registration, conference events, speakers and hotels will be available on the FARE website in February.
